Scientific effects base for creative design

Conceptual design is a process that ascertains functional solutions and the creative activities for product innovation are accomplished in this process. Behavior is a link between function and form, which is a key middle component. Using scientific effects is an effective approach to realize the mapping from function to behavior in the conceptual design process. Based on conceptual design process model, a relationship model of the function, behavior and effect and a function-effect (FE) model were built. A software prototype of scientific effects base was developed, which had the functions of effects searching, effects displaying, effect combing and report creating. This system can be effectively used to finding principle solutions in creative design, which is a module of Computer Aided Design for Production Innovation.
Analysis of dissymmetrical spatial fully compliant robot based on parallel mechanisms with 3-DOF translations

Synthesis of a new type of fully compliant robot mechanism was carried out by utilizing the single-open-chain theory, and the position analysis of such mechanism was simulated in ADAMS. Then the equations of up-platform's translation were formulated based on the theoretical analysis of positive kinematics. Finally, simulation on the result of theoretical analysis was conducted. The results of type synthesis and simulation showed that such mechanism could move with 3-DOF translations while without rotation. In addition, they still indicated that the No.1 and No.2 chain's positive kinematical equations are related to one driver's value each other except the No.3 chain. The kinematical simulation also proved the correctness of the theoretic results of the positive kinematical equations, which can be applied as a firm basis for the easy-operation of kinematical control for fully compliant parallel robot mechanism.

This paper formulates the forward and inverse kinematical model of a new type of two freedom parallel robot's location by adopting vector principle. This model can fulfill robot's real time requirement and successfully solves the problems of trajectory control and position display in CNC system. The research results have been successfully applied to the development of a new type parallel robot.
Numerical simulation analysis of cold extrusion for spur gear based on streamline cavity

Cold extrusion of gear is a 3D volume plastic but non-steady-status forming process, whose deformation mechanism is extremely complex. This paper constructs a streamline die cavity based on NURBS and simulates the extrusion process of spur gear in an application, in which large deformation rigid-plastic FEM is adopted. The results indicate that continuous extrusion utilizing streamline die cavity is effective in improving metal filling in corner, reducing deformation break and enhance the uniformity of deformation distribution. This conclusion can be adopted as a reference for process design of gear extrusion.
Design and implementation of embedded and portable ultrasonic impedance reconstruction system

Ultrasonic impedance is a crucial parameter for ultrasonic detection and evaluation of technique application. How to reconstruct the ultrasonic impedance of the detected materials or components has been a fatal factor in layer material's test of adhesive performance and strength of adhints, measurement of elastic intensity of layer materials including carbon fiber composites, diagnosis of defects in composite materials and so on. In order to reach the aim of reconstructing ultrasonic impedance in real-time, on-line and accurately, and according to the latest achievement in information, computer and micro-electronic technologies, an embedded and portable system adopting DSP and ARM chips as central measuring and controlling unit is presented. On the basis of introducing general structure, design of software & hardware and function features of this system, this paper focuses on the design of some key modules of this system, such as ultrasonic wave transmitter and receiver, high speed A/D converter and the communication mode between related odules. The results of practical application indicate that this system performs much better in real time, reliability, accuracy and function expanding ability. 
Design of high pressure assembled mechanical seal used in submarine

The mechanical seal utilized in submarine's weapon ejection pump works under fluctuant working pressure and is used in low frequency, and high reliability is indispensable. According to such requirements, this paper conducts analysis and design on high pressure assembled mechanical seal and its key techniques, and then presents the methods of its structure design, selection and calculation of its key parameters. Furthermore, the distortion of seal ring is analyzed by adopting finite element method. This paper involves the experiment device, applied to test reliability of submarine's high pressure mechanical seal, and then conducts test on the designed mechanical seal. The results indicate that such mechanical seal can fulfill the requirements commendably.  
Research on dynamic design method and imitation of belt conveyor with horizontal curves

Aiming at the dynamic design problem of large belt conveyor with planar curves, this paper presents the method of calculating its running resistance by analyzing the orienting force and resistance on its curving parts. And then the dynamic model adopting discrete finite element model is established. Additionally, a dynamic analysis software of belt conveyor with planar curves is developed, and through simulation on real time system, displacement, velocity, acceleration and tension of separate units in the start-up process and the corresponding curves are gained, which sufficiently testifies the correctness of this software. The influence on belt conveyor of curve running is also provided by comparison between the simulation results of curve-running conveyor and line-running conveyor.

This paper starts from applying perturbation stochastic element-free Galerkin method (PSEFGM), which features element-free and high precision, to solve the response of probabilistic structure. And the author analyzes the structural reliability adopting Ant Algorithm. Ant Algorithm is an intelligent optimum algorithm for stochastic searching. This algorithm required no prerequisites of differentiation or even continuation of objective function and can effectively overcome the common disadvantages of classic algorithm-immersing into local optimum. Numerical examples show that the stochasticelement-free Galerkin method and ant algorithm had obvious advantages comparing to classic algorithm in reliability analysis of probabilistic structure.

On the basis of reliability and optimization design theory, this paper discussed the general method for reliability and optimization design of pressure vessel.
Under the circumstance that stress, strength and other random variables fulfilled normal distribution, taking the minimization of the mess of shell as an objective function, the author established the mathematical model of reliability and optimization design of pressure vessel and developed special corresponding program in VB. By adopting the method presented, a series of local optimization design schemes meeting reliability constraint conditions are obtained for users and manufacturers to select according to specific conditions.
Use of Asp.Net in remote control

In order to realize remote control of electrical towage system, the structure of Asp.Net was introduced and its advantages in programming, configuration, disposition, debugging and safety were analyzed. Some basic concept of networked control system (NCS), which is a new study field that integrates computer, communication technology and control technology, was introduced. The structure of the whole Web system was described and then, how to establish IIS6 Web server and how to create a Web site on it were introduced. Networked control system based on Asp.Net was established and some problems in its construction, including there is no way to directly transfer variables through Web form, were discussed. Some programs were provided to explain how to transfer control variables through Asp.Net. Some programs about how to create Web form, which is different from and more efficient than the traditional ASP, were also provided. The real-time problem of networked control system was discussed and some measures were proposed to improve real-time property. Last, some graphs and results about our experiment were presented, which shows that an electromotor in long distance was successfully controlled through constructing IIS6 Web server and LAN. Results prove the reliability and the validity of Asp.Net in remote control.

This paper mainly discussed the solution of transmitting unexpected signals by co-applying Radio and Line, which had been successfully adopted in Automatic Delivery of barreled water. This design involved the automatic delivery system comprising client and server hardware, and required no visible change to water dispenser, no extra indoor wires or power source. This paper focused on client delivery system, whose work included amplifying and modulating signals, sending and receiving radio, identifying codes, decoding, and automatically dialing. The server located in delivery centre received and identified DTMF signals from phone line sent by multiple clients and acquired the coding information of water level from them. Furthermore, the paper presented other possible applications of low-cost but long-distance information transmission.

Amendment to in-circle and design streamline on circulatory circle during the design of hydrodynamic torque converter is commonly necessary. Taking the three circular arcs as an example, this paper presents the disadvantages of differential amendment method and further improves the amendment design of circular circle. The results indicates that torque converter, designed through this new method, achieves smooth changes of cross-sectional areas, reasonable distributions of flow field and can fulfill the requirements through one amendment.

Adopting the grey relational analysis, this paper established evaluation model for the optimization and selection of air-conditioning engineering design. By taking the assessment with several air-conditioning design schemes, this paper also presented the optimal scheme.
Strengthening analysis and engineering application of high towers by using diaphragm bracings

A high tower can be strengthened by adding a series of diaphragm bracings. This paper analyzes the working performance of high tower added diaphragm bracings through the method of three-dimension finite element considering geometry non-linearity and material non-linearity. Meantime, this paper also implements the optimization of the selection of connections and the parameters of diaphragm bracing's location. The result shows that the intensities of resisting bending and twisting are highly improved by utilizing diaphragm bracings. This scheme has already been applied to practical improvement projects and has been proved feasible.
