Chinese Journal of Engineering Design is a Chinese‑language bimonthly journal, first published in 1994. It is supervised by the Ministry of Education of China, sponsored by Zhejiang University, and published by Zhejiang University Press. Professor Yang Huayong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Chairman of the International Alliance of Intelligent Manufacturing, serves as the Editor‑in‑Chief, with Professor Xu Bing of Zhejiang University as the Executive Editor‑in‑Chief.

Chinese Journal of Engineering Design publishes high‑level original research papers on basic and applied research with innovative and cutting‑edge significance in the field of mechanical engineering design and its emerging interdisciplinary areas. It also introduces the latest trends in engineering design development, progress and achievements of funded projects, and experiences in cooperative design and development of products and equipment through industry‑university‑research collaboration.
