Study of the electromagnetic-dynamics interaction of the breaking
process of low-voltage molded case circuit breaker

Abstract:

In order to solve the electromagnetic-dynamics interaction of the breaking process of low voltage molded case circuit breaker efficiently, the relation of the coupled variables of breaking process was analyzed, and the mathematical models of electromagnetic and dynamics were constructed, a self-adaptive step sequential interaction method was proposed which can adapt the step according to the fluctuation of the Lorentz-force.The method was applied into the breaking analysis of a model of MCCB, result shows that the method is high efficiency in solving the problem. At the end, the dynamics characteristic of breaking process was analyzed, the influence of spring stiffness of spindle, return spring stiffness of contacts arm and over run of contact on breaking capacity was studied, and the optimization direction of breaking capacity of MCCB was given．
