Isoparametric line dividing grid generation method for free-form lattice shells |

Abstract A new grid generation method named isoparametric line dividing method was proposed based on characteristics of tensor product surface. The method can be applied to free-form lattice shells. The algorithm process of the method was introduced and the main steps including the extraction and division of isoparametric line were explained. The problem arising when a part of the surface overlaps with another was solved by introducing a failure criterion. Grid quality evaluation standards were presented according to the requirement of lattice shell structure. Different kinds of free-form surfaces were meshed using the mapping method and isoparametric line dividing method respectively. The grids generated by these two methods were compared. The analysis results show that the isoparametric line dividing method can significantly improve the shape quality of the grids and the length uniformity of the member bars. The method can be applied to the modeling of free-form lattice shells.

自由形态网壳结构网格生成的等参线分割法
基于自由曲面造型中普遍应用的B样条(B-spline)曲面的张量积特性,提出适用于自由形态网壳结构的网格生成方法——等参线分割法.介绍该方法的网格生成流程,阐述了该方法的关键步骤——等参线等弦长分割的算法实现,探讨了当曲面局部自相交时通过增加判断条件修正分割结果的方法.结合网壳结构的特殊要求,提出网格质量的评价标准.通过不同类型的自由曲面网格生成算例表明,采用该方法能够显著提高整体网格的形状质量和杆件长度的均匀性、统一性,适用于自由形态网壳结构的建模.
