Abstract Research on mechanical behavior of creeping capsule endoscope during intestine peristalsis is carried out through simplifying peristaltic intestine into incompressible elastic membrane, combining with membrane stress equations ofrevolving shell. Then numerical analysis is conducted. The analysis indicates that push force of peristaltic intestine to capsule endoscope is proportional to square of capsule endoscope’s diameter; furthermore, in consideration of patients’ feeling and possibility of succeeding inspection, diameter of capsule endoscope should be 7-15 mm; viscous resistance is also found to have linear relationship to the endoscope’s diameter and length when assuming capsule’screeping velocity constant, although the ratio is very small.
