Chinese Journal of Engineering Design, 2006, 13(5): 281-285.
Based on fuzzy mathematics theory and evidential theory, a method to process uncertain information comprehensively and reasonably select products’ mechanical structure type is presented. Firstly, a set of design principles of each product sub-class is extracted by utilizing existing products cases and thena fuzzy vector to describe typical characteristics of each sub class is constructed. Furthermore, design information represented by general real number, sections and fuzzy sets is processed in the same way. Product type is determined by adopting inexact reasoning including fuzzy reasoning and evidential theory. The above method can be used as reasoning strategy for solution-seeking problem of intelligent design system and it can realize automatic knowledge acquisition. Through an illustration of type selection, the validity of this method is demonstrated.

Chinese Journal of Engineering Design, 2006, 13(5): 298-302.
In automobile industry, structural optimization related to crashworthiness and energy absorption capability is of great importance, which involves many parameters of material and structure. Conventional design, crash simulation and experiment can merely improve crashworthiness to some extent, but cannot achieve optimal performance in general. A new optimization methodology—Response Surface methodology, which develops in recent years worldwide, is adopted to study thin-walled structural optimization of crashworthiness combined with conventional optimization methods and nonlinear finite element program. Optimization results indicate that this method has high accuracy and validity.

Chinese Journal of Engineering Design, 2006, 13(5): 303-306.
Based on the importance of extracting differential signal in industryand aerospace control, an adaptive high order differential feedback controller (AHODFC), which is capable to extract high-quality differential signals and canbe applied to AC adjustable-speed system with varying frequency, is presented.Since in engineering application, it is easy to implement interface operation, data acquisition and port operation by VC++, VC++ is adopted to implement the control interface of AC adjustable-speed system with varying frequency. In addition, programming process of high-order differential controller algorithm is proposed as well as the interface operation of this adjustable-speed system. Through simulation and practical running, comparing with PID control, high-order differential feedback control has better control effect and robustness, andeasier to adjust parameters, which demonstrates that AHODFC has practicability and feasibility.

Chinese Journal of Engineering Design, 2006, 13(5): 307-311.
On the basis of meeting several hypotheses, a coordinate system with its origin at the center of volume is established, and force analysis of stratosphere airship is carried out. Based on seriatim explaining longitudinal forces and moments, state equation of longitudinal aerodynamic model for stratosphere airship under balance is set up. According to experimental flight data and shape dimension characteristics, controllability and observability are analyzed, and then the observer is designed. This observer solves contradiction between performance and physics of the state feedback of the model. Moreover, it also provides design reference for design of stable flight and automatic control of stratosphere airship.

TIAN Qi-Hua, ZHENG Peng-Fei, GAN Yan-Sheng
Chinese Journal of Engineering Design, 2006, 13(5): 321-324.
Aiming at the situation of low calorific value of life garbage and difficulty in classifying and collecting it in a short term in most of China’s middle and small cities, taking vertical hearth as a basis and adopting layering burning method, a new type of roller fire-grates garbage furnace, which is continuously burning controllable, is developed. In design, both the haze lamination processing technology and the fluid bed burning technology, as well as the revolving burning technology, are adopted. Furthermore, structure is also innovated. In addition, design gist of its key components is elaborated and experimental data analysis is conducted too. The experimental result indicates that this furnace has high burning efficiency and good practical effect.

Experimental research of measuring static balance of gyro rotor through weighing
LI Bing-Le, WANG Hou-Sheng, WANG Hui, WANG Qiu-Liang
Chinese Journal of Engineering Design, 2006, 13(5): 332-335.
Firstly, importance of gyro rotor balance is briefly introduced. Under the precondition that there are no suitable static balance methods for gyro rotors with special structure, small mass and high accuracy, an existing static balance method utilizing pressure sensor to measure force is improved. This improvement enables measurement on static imbalance of centroid offset in 2D space to extend to 3D space. Through high-precision electronic balance substituting pressure sensor, balance accuracy is greatly enhanced and it is more suitable for rotors with small mass but high accuracy. Then, simple theoretic analysis and design of experimental plan and system are conducted. Finally, experimental data, analysis result and future prospect are achieved.

Chinese Journal of Engineering Design, 2006, 13(5): 342-345.
Customization design is regarded as an effective way to solve the conflicts in Mass Customization (MC) and rapidly complete design of product which fulfills customers’ individual requirements best. Taking design of footwear products as an example, a customization design methodology based on extensible change is presented. Firstly, a compound element model, used for change and consisting of conflicts, is established. Then a condition basis element is obtained by discomposing the results in the compound element, and utilizing correlation function to express fixed values. Finally, through relationship computation of theoretic value and practical value, the adaptable degree is achieved. Extensible change firstly conducts model analysis. It employs extensible method to seek the possibility of extending the research targets and then regulation to create is proposed. By exchanging, disposing, copying and so on, it solves the conflicts.
