Abstract A precision stepping system with high precision and low cost is designed. The way improving the precision and dynamic performance of numerical control harmonic drive system is analyzed. It is present that the meshing performance and manufacturing precision, dynamic performance of harmonic drive and torque characteristics, control technology of stepping motor, the matching of mechanical system and electricity system must be considered to obtain a high precision stepping harmonic drive system.
