Novel nulling forming algorithm based on amplitude perturbation

Abstract:

The concept of pattern function of nulling average power was presented based on a new amplitude perturbation method in order to solve the problem of nulling depth insufficiency in traditional amplitude perturbation algorithms. A new nonlinear cost function was established by minimizing the pattern function available of nulling average power, and the optimal amplitude perturbation was obtained by using the steepest descent algorithm. Simulation results show that the algorithm can break through the limitation of nulling number in traditional amplitude perturbation algorithms, and can form ideal nulling depth in directions of interferences regardless of the nulling number. Meanwhile, the algorithm can conquer the shortcoming that the electrical levels of sidelobes arise while nulling depth increases in traditional amplitude perturbation algorithms. Finally, the algorithm ensures the nonaberration of mainlobes to form ideal antenna pattern, and improves the  antiinterference capability of the antenna．
