Abstract To increase working efficiency of linear induction motor (LIM) by decreasing the clearance between LIM and reaction plate, a new structure bogie with independent rotating wheel (IRW) for LIM metro vehicle was presented, which was convenient for installation of LIM and lowered the design requirements of bogie structure required by LIM. By using the multi-body dynamics application SIMPACK, the dynamic performance of LIM metro vehicle with IRW is calculated. The dynamic simulation analysis result indicates that LIM metro vehicle with IRW has good dynamic performance in stability and curve negotiation.
