Abstract Some computer aided designing aspects of the latest generation operator's cabin designing were presented. The particular attention to original design concept of the vibration isolation of the operator's cabin was payed. The concept was based on the calculation model of the operating excavator boom together with the operator's cabin boom. Dynamic analysis of the cabin's behaviour were carried out with the usage of the Finite Elements Method. Based on the numerical research results carried out on the virtual model, the design concept and then the cabin's prototype with the vibration isolation system was worked out. The vibration measurements carried out on the real object gave very satisfactory results.
