Study on jammed process and mechanical analysis of VL type constant velocity universal joint

Abstract  The VL type constant velocity universal joint produced by Xiangyang automobile bearing company was studied. It has jammed phenomenon when the VL type constant velocity universal joint rotates to a certain angle, which means that it needs strong strength to keep rotating towards some directions. To solve this problem, the structural design and the channel's processing technic of the universal joint was tested and analyzed. After calculating and testing, the conformity of both the VL universal joint's structural design and the channel's processing technic were proved which avoided the clamping stagnation. Then the stress analysis of steel ball was taken, and it showed that the direction of resultant forces was out of the frictional angle before the steel ball reached the block angle, and the direction moved into frictional angle when the ball reached around the block angle. According to the above analysis, it is found that the most direct way to avoid the block is to prevent the intersection angle between inner and outer joint member from running to a certain clamping angle.

VL型等速万向节卡滞过程与受力分析研究

以襄阳汽车轴承公司生产的某VL型等速万向节为研究对象,其转到一定角度时会发生卡滞现象,即需要某方向很大的力才能恢复转动.针对该问题首先对此万向节的结构设计和沟道加工工艺合理性进行检验分析,经计算和实验验证可知:此VL型等速万向节结构设计和沟道加工工艺合格,不会导致卡滞.然后对钢球受力进行分析,分析表明:万向节在运动到卡滞角度之前钢球受到主动力的合力方向在摩擦角以外,到达卡滞角度附近时总动力方向已经进入摩擦锥角.通过上述卡滞原因的分析,可以发现要预防卡滞最直接的方法就是防止内外套之间的夹角达到卡滞角度.
