Research on semantic descriptions of product material texture

Abstract  In order to define the perceptual experience of the feeling features of various materials to users, and quantify the qualitative problem of product material texture, a range of adjectives were assessed quantitatively to describe the feeling features of materials, and a series of suitable sample pictures were conducted to show material texture. Considering physical and mental feelings of users, questionnaires were sent out which users could match these adjectives with samples. And then, using statistical analysis and comparative analysis to analyze the collected statistics, the descriptive words of the texture semantics of 8 different typical product materials are developed, so that designers can do property design and demand analysis accurately and rapidly, and communicate with engineers and sales effectively.

产品材料质感语义认知的表述方法研究

为明确各种材料的感觉特性带给用户的感性体验,将产品材料质感这个定性的问题定量化,量化考核了一系列形容词对于材料各种感觉特性表述的贴切度,并制作了一系列适于表达材料质感的样本图片,从产品使用者的生理和心理感觉出发,通过问卷调查的方式让普通用户将形容词与常见典型材料的图片样本进行匹配.综合运用统计分析法、对比分析法对调查数据进行整合分析,研究出产品的八大类典型材料的质感语义认知及其对应的表述词语,以利于产品设计师准确、快速地进行产品质感设计和需求分析,以及与工程师、销售人员的有效交流.
