Failure and transmission force analysis of micro-elastic mesh wheel

Abstract The calculating formulation for transmission force of micro-elastic mess wheel was derived according to large deformation theory. By combining the results of calculation and experiment, research on the relationship between transmission force and deformation degree as well as mesh depth was conducted to analyze the transmission failure cause of micro-elastic mesh wheel. The calculating result indicates that the transmission force increases with the increase of deformation angle of elastic stick. The experiment shows that the deeper the mesh of elastic stick is, the more the transmission force generated by this mechanism is. The failure analysis shows that the principal factors causing transmission failure include changeable transmission force, vibration shock and micro-manufacture process of elastic micromesh wheel.
