Abstract A method for the design of LON (local operating network)network adapter based on PCI bus is discussed and the technology of realizing the interface between Neuron and PC adopting dual-port RAM is implemented．The process of hardware design and software implementation for communication between Lon Works network and PC iS then described with details．Finally a method to develop driver for network adapter is also offered．So far this network adapter has supplied efficient support for the interface between PC and Lon Works．
