Abstract Inspired by the concept of modern design，a novel way of developing electrom echanicalproducts is put forward on the basis of green concepts after analyzing the defects existed in traditional way of product developing．The new green concept is adopted in the development of largecom plicated electrostatic precipitator in consideration of the whole lifecycle of the products． Thedesign practice generates valid results．
