Abstract A new controller for parallel ship motion simulator was developed based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) aiming at the feature that the simulator was multivariable, strong coupling, complex in structure and hard to obtain its explicit mathematical model.Using the parametric design method, a multi-domain simulation model, integrated mechanical, hydraulic and control systems, was established by Simulink. And then the method of parameter adjustment of the controller was presented.The results of simulations show the effectiveness of the simulation model and the control system.
