Abstract Aiming at the design and manufacture of new-type fixed semi-automatichay baler, the working principle and structure of the key parts of hay baler, including compressing mechanism, intake mechanism, separate-bundle mechanism, are expatiated, among which the intake and separate-bundle mechanisms are its features. These two mechanisms require strict movement relationship with compressing mechanism, which increases design difficulty. Intake mechanism adopts horizontalsemi-automatic feeding to lower the height of loading hay and this accords with body engineering. The lever-group shift lever interlock separate-bundle mechanism has simple structure and is easy to operate. Additionally, it enhances thesecurity of flashboard separate-bundle.
