Optimal analysis of folded plate type latticed shell

Abstract The discussion was undertaken about the structural steel consumption affected in different rise/span ratio and different circumjacent/center rise ratio.The optimal calculation of folded plate type latticed shell was developed.considering the steel consumption as an objective function and the number of lattice and the thickness of shell as variables.By using exhaustion method and 0.618 method,some orthogonal folded plate type latticed shell supported on four points were calculated.The optimallattice number and shell thickness were obtained under the different span from 20—40 m .The result can provide a valuable reference for the design of folded plate type latticed shel1.
