Abstract: In order to prevent the collision between lifting goods and barrier in the process of running, the principle of ZigBee wireless location was introduced, and the loss model of radio was analyzed. The positioning reference node was optimized layout according to structure characteristics of tower crane, and the localization algorithm was simplified. RSSI values were filtered by using Gaussian theory, and the distance was calculated by the logarithmicnormal distribution theory model. Finally, the blind node coordinates were obtained according to the threedimensional positioning method. The experiment was made in real environment, the results shows that this method can realize the positioning accuracy in 2.5 m. It provides the reference for design of location collision avoidance system and realtime monitoring system of tower crane.
