农业现代化的关键在于科技进步,生物技术是新一轮农业产业革命的动力泵。科技进步已成为粮食安全乃至传统农业转型升级的最重大、最关键、最根本的出路和措施。近20年来,生物学领域最活跃和最快速的研究前沿就是基因组学技术。基因组学研究为解决农业卡脖子问题和突破关键技术难题提供了重要的理论与技术支撑,已成为世界科技强国发展战略的制高点和新的经济增长点,其引领性、突破性、颠覆性特征日益呈现。基于基因组选择和基因组编辑设计育种技术、基于合成生物学的大片段DNA组装技术,构成了精准设计育种过程必要的技术手段,极大地加快新品种选育进程。表型组研究也逐渐成为生物研究的国际前沿,是深入解析复杂性状分子调控网络、突破基因型与环境互作的重要途径;依据设施和大田生产需求,设计培育作物新品种、新技术,设计作物新生产,可以大幅度提高现代农业经济效益。因此,Crop Design期刊将致力于打造一个学术交流平台,围绕农业基因组与精准设计育种、现代作物智慧生产等重大前沿科学与技术问题,加快推动该领域的技术发展。




Crop Design刊登文章关注以下几个方向:


• 应用基因工程技术、大规模组学技术、计算生物学和生物技术,研究与作物产量、品质改良直接相关的基础科学论文。

• 在作物结构基因组学、功能基因组学、蛋白质组学、代谢组学、表型组学等多组学联合分析基础上,研究作物生物与非生物胁迫调控网络分析、和转基因作物田间评价等研究论文。

• 拓展理论与田间试验相结合的方法,综合应用作物保护(疾病、害虫、杂草)和人工智能等研究方法,对作物最佳生长的生物物理过程开展系统性研究的论文。

• 发表有关作物科学知识产权、作物监管和大众性植物生物技术等观点的评论文章。

• 报道植物分子生物学应用方面的重要技术进步。

Research Article

           Crop Design recommends that Research Article is no longer than 8000 words with no more than 7 Figures and Tables in total.

Review Article

Review Article should be no more than 9000 words, with a total of no more than 15 Figures and Tables.

Short Communication

Short Communicationmust be no more than 1500 words in total, without an abstract, and should contain no more than one illustration/table and a maximum of 10 references.

Short Communicationis a brief report on the latest finding and update on novel technique applications, in the field of crop science fit in the scope of Crop Design. Short Communicationthat is more extensive than this will be returned to the authors without review. 

Opinion/Commentary

Opinion/Commentary must be no more than 1500 words in total, without an abstract, and should contain no more than one illustration/table and a maximum of 10 references.

Opinion/Commentary is a report or comment on the latest breaking through in the field of crop science or life science, which is impactable for plant science and common good for human.  Opinion/Commentary that is more extensive than this will be returned to the authors without review.

Crop Design will be an open access international journal focused on the advanced research on field crops, particularly theory and applications of the best crop cultivar improvement and production. Crop Design publishes thought-provoking, cutting-edge research, with a focus on single-point story and longer article format. Crop Design also publishes resources, which highlight significant technical advances and/or major informational data sets, and reviews, which are commissioned by the editors. A comprehensive list of areas of interest is shown below.

  • Presents fundamental science papers of direct relevance to crop improvement plants using molecular engineering, large-scale omics technology, computational biology, and biotechnology.
  • Reports contemporary methods of molecular genetics and genomic analysis, structural and functional genomics in crops, proteomics and metabolic profiling, phenomics, abiotic stress and field evaluation of transgenic crops containing particular traits.
  • Demonstrates how the theory and field experiments, crop protection (diseases, pests, weeds) and artificial intelligence contribute to a better understanding of the bio-physical processes related to the best crop growth.
  • Publishes relevant articles addressing intellectual property issues, regulation and public attitudes to plant biotechnology
  • Covers significant technology advances in applied plant molecular biology and (trans)gene expression technology
