Abstract Zhejiang University, with a history of more than a hundred years, published a brand new English academic journal in the second millenium: Journal of Zhejiang University (SCIENCE). Our Editor-in-Chief, PAN Yun-he, proudly invited T. D. Lee and some famous scholars as the members of the editorial board. The aim of our Journal is to present the latest developments and achievements in scientific research in China and overseas to the world\'s scientific circles, specially to stimulate and promote academic exchange between Chinese scientists and their foreign counterparts everywhere. This Journal covers subjects in Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine and Social Science. We hope that in the very near future, the Journal will be recognized by scholars all over the world, and that the name of the Journal will appear in the most popular indexing systems.
