Abstract：Nucleohistones from seedlings of three lines (male sterile line，maintainer line，and restoring line)and their F, hybrid of rice (Oryza sativa L.)are isolated and compared with the calf thymus histones us-ing delectrophoresis on polyacrylamide and SDS-polyacrylamid gels. Fractions H, and H3 of rice and calfthymus display the same mobilities on both gels while HLand Hzsof rice show lower mobilities on bothgels and thus have higher molecular weights than calf thymus histone counterparts. Moreover, H, isspeciespecific in all our investigations. And the hybrid H, content is higher than that of its parents. ourobservation provides an opportunity to study heterosis molecular genetically.
