Abstract：An improved modification of the trihydroxyindole method was used to determine epinephrine in this paper.
Experiments indicate that the fluorescent lutines can be stablized by the mercaptoethanol in the borax buffer(pH= 8. 7). So it is possible to determine epinephrine in the alkaline medium. Under the same conditions, dopa, dopamine can not form fluorescent products, therefore, they didn't interfere with the estimation of epinephrine. From this,a simple and selective method for the determination of epinephrine was put forward.
