Abstract:The influence of dimethyl amine epoxy propane (DE) on the electrochemical behavior of zinc in the alkaline zincate solution was investigated by means of current-time technique, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, polarization measurement and scanning electron microscopy. The experimental results show that zinc dendrite is inhibited by the addition of DE and its inhibition effect increases with
its concentration rising. In high cathodic polarization potential region the growth of zinc dendrite is not inhibited due to the additive desorbing from the electrode surface.
