Abstract：By renewedly concluding the design principle of binary astable flip-flops, this paper proposes the design of the ternary astable flip-flop, which is based on integrated gate circuits and verified by PSPICE. The simulation proves that the ternary astable flip-flop has correct logic function. The ternary astable flip-flops with three equal widths are further investigated in the paper.
