Journal of Zhejiang University (Medical Sciences) is a double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal, and the strict peer-review process guarantees the academic level and raises the reputation of the journal. All published articles in Journal of Zhejiang University (Medical Sciences) are peer-reviewed and all submitted manuscripts follow the process outlined below.
All manuscripts submitted for publication in Journal of Zhejiang University (Medical Sciences) are firstly evaluated by the editors in the Editorial Office or Editorial Board. Manuscripts, especially those fall outside the aims and scopes of the journal may be rejected without external review at the editor’s discretion.
All manuscripts that are selected for peer review are sent to three or more independent reviewers, who are determined by the editors and/or Editorial Board according to their expertise.
Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript’s originality, methodology, contribution to the literature, presentation of results and support for the conclusions, and appropriate referencing of previous relevant studies. Reviewers might accept, reject or require a revision for style and/or content.
After favorable opinions of the reviewers, the final acceptance or rejection rests with the Editorial Board, who reserves the right to refuse any material for publication. The primary criteria for judging the acceptability of a manuscript are its quality, novelty, and scientific importance. The decisions on acceptance, revision, or rejection are made within three months of submission, and the decision letter will be sent to the corresponding author’s E-mail address.
